Rooftop courses
Ardougne Rooftop (90+)
Profit from Marks of Grace
Click-intensive but simple
✓ Run Energy Restoration: Higher Agility = faster run energy regeneration (essential for all activities)
✓ Shortcuts: Unlock 30+ shortcuts across Gielinor for faster travel (Taverley Dungeon, GWD, Trollheim, etc.)
✓ Graceful Outfit: 260 Marks of Grace from rooftop courses → full weight reduction set (-25kg)
✓ Profitable: Marks of Grace trade for Amylase Crystals (15M+ profit to 99)
✓ Quest Requirements: Many important quests require 50-70 Agility (Regicide, Song of the Elves, Underground Pass)
Best overall method. Grants Marks of Grace (260 needed for full Graceful outfit). Simple click-intensive training with consistent XP rates. Move to the highest level course available.
Fast XP with unique minigame mechanics. Requires precision timing and practice. Grants unique rewards (Ring of Endurance, Dark Graceful). Best XP in game at 90+ Agility but more intensive than rooftops.
Ticket-based system for Agility XP and recolored Graceful. Less popular due to lower XP rates but offers variety. Requires 200 tickets for full recolor.
What are Marks of Grace?
Marks of Grace spawn randomly on rooftop course obstacles (far less than 1–2 per lap — typically a fraction of a mark per lap on average). They stay on the ground for 10 minutes before despawning. Spawn rate is highest when running a course within 20 levels of your Agility level.
Graceful Outfit Cost (260 Marks Total)
Graceful Outfit Benefits
Full set provides -25kg weight reduction (individual pieces give -3 to -5kg each). When wearing the full set, your run energy restores 30% faster. Essential for Runecraft, Questing, Farming runs, and any activity involving running.
Marks of Grace → GP
After full Graceful, exchange Marks at Grace's: 10 Marks → 1 amylase pack (100 crystals) = 10 crystals per Mark. Crystal prices move with the GE — expect thousands of GP per Mark on average, not 100 GP. Profit from 60–99 depends on mark rate and GE; treat "15–20M" as a rough historical ballpark only.
Complete Guide to OSRS Agility Training
Why Agility is Essential
Agility is one of the most universally useful skills in Old School RuneScape, affecting every single activity you do in the game. Higher Agility levels mean your run energy regenerates faster, allowing you to spend less time walking and more time actually playing. At level 1, run energy restores at approximately 1% every 7.5 seconds while standing still. At 99 Agility, this increases to 1% every 2.5 seconds - a massive 3x improvement that compounds over thousands of hours of gameplay.
Beyond run energy, Agility unlocks crucial shortcuts throughout the game world. The Taverley Dungeon shortcut (70 Agility) saves 2-3 minutes per trip to Blue Dragons or Cerberus. The God Wars Dungeon boulder needs 60 Agility or 60 Strength (boostable) and is essentially mandatory for efficient GWD. Many quests and diaries need high Agility — Song of the Elves requires 70 Agility (not boostable).
Rooftop Courses: The Standard Method
Rooftop Agility courses are the most popular training method from levels 10-99 for good reason. They're click-intensive but simple, requiring you to click from obstacle to obstacle in a circuit. The key benefit is Marks of Grace, which spawn randomly on rooftop obstacles and are used to purchase the essential Graceful outfit. Full Graceful costs 260 Marks and provides -25kg weight reduction plus 30% faster run energy restoration when wearing the complete set.
The rooftop progression is straightforward: always train at the highest level course available to you. Draynor (10+), Al Kharid (20+), Varrock (30+), Canifis (40+), Falador (50+), Seers' Village (60+), Pollnivneach (70+), Rellekka (80+), and Ardougne (90+) form the standard path. Seers' Village deserves special mention — Kandarin Hard lets Camelot teleport land at the Seers bank and improves mark rates (+15%), which raises XP/hr via more laps, not by changing the 570 XP per lap. Many players stay at Seers until 80+ for that reason.
Hallowed Sepulchre: Advanced Training
Unlocked at 52 Agility (realistically trained at 75+), the Hallowed Sepulchre is a timed obstacle course minigame in Darkmeyer. It features unique mechanics including moving hazards, timing-based obstacles, and floor progression that unlocks higher XP rates at higher Agility levels. Floor 5 (92 Agility) provides 90-110k XP per hour, making it the fastest Agility training in the game.
The Sepulchre has a steep learning curve but becomes very rewarding once mastered. You'll need to learn the timing of crossbow traps, flame patterns, and arrow volleys. The minigame also offers unique rewards including the Ring of Endurance (extends stamina potion duration by 50%), Dark Graceful recolor, and Hallowed tools for Construction training. Profit averages 2-4M GP per hour from looting coffins, making it both faster XP and more profitable than rooftops at high levels.
Marks of Grace Strategy
Marks of Grace spawn rate is optimal when you're training at a course within 20 levels of your current Agility level. For example, if you're level 80 Agility, doing the Varrock course (30 requirement) will give you almost no Marks. Always train at Rellekka or Ardougne at 80+ for best Mark rates. Each rooftop lap has roughly a 20% chance to spawn a Mark, averaging 15-20 Marks per hour.
The optimal strategy is to farm Marks of Grace until you can afford full Graceful (260 Marks total, achievable by level 60-70), then continue rooftop training and convert excess Marks into Amylase Crystals for profit. Exchange rate is 10 Marks → 100 crystals (10 per Mark). Crystal GE price sets real GP/hr — check the tracker, do not assume 1,000 GP/Mark.
Important Agility Milestones
Useful goals: Level 70 Taverley pipe (Blue Dragons / Cerberus). Song of the Elves needs 70 Agility, not boostable — plan to train it, do not rely on Summer Pies. Level 60 Agility or Strength for the GWD boulder. Level 85 for Waterbirth rock climb. Level 90 unlocks Ardougne rooftop. 99 gives the Agility cape teleports.
Training Agility Efficiently
Agility is often described as "click intensive but not attention intensive." You need to click every 5-10 seconds but the actual gameplay is very repetitive. This makes it perfect for watching videos, movies, or streams. Many players use rooftop courses as their "Netflix skill" - something to do while watching content on a second monitor. The consistency and predictability actually makes it quite relaxing once you get into a rhythm.
For maximum efficiency, use RuneLite's ground item highlighting to never miss Marks of Grace. Set up camera angles to minimize clicks per lap - some obstacles have perfect 1-click positions if your camera is positioned correctly. If you have the Kandarin Hard Diary, make Seers' Village your home base from 60-80+ Agility. Consider switching to Hallowed Sepulchre at 82 or 92 Agility if you want faster XP and better profit, though this requires more focus and practice.
