How To

How to Import Tile Markers

RuneLite Ground Markers (and some HDOS importers) accept shared JSON so you don’t paint every tile by hand. Grab a pack from our library, copy the JSON, paste it in the plugin, then tweak colours locally. Always export a backup of your personal markers first.

Skip if: You don’t use RuneLite (or a compatible HDOS importer).

Before bulk imports

Import steps
  1. Open Tile Packs and pick a pack (boss rooms, farming, sailing, etc.). Preview the map if the pack has one.
  2. Copy the RuneLite JSON (or HDOS variant if labelled).
  3. In RuneLite, enable Ground Marker (or the plugin named in the pack notes — some use Object Indicators).
  4. Plugin settings → Import / Paste → paste → confirm.
  5. Teleport to the area and check tiles. Recolour or delete extras as needed.
If nothing shows up
  • Wrong plane / floor — many packs are plane-specific.
  • Plugin disabled, or “draw markers” toggled off.
  • JSON pasted into the wrong plugin.
  • Clipboard truncated — copy again from the site.
  • You’re not standing in the region the pack covers.
Planning your own markers

For freehand world-map planning (not RuneLite ground markers), use OSRS Map — draw, pin, then share a URL or export JSON. That’s separate from in-game Ground Marker imports.
