Managing Miscellania in short
After Throne of Miscellania, subjects gather resources funded from your coffers. After Royal Trouble, Etceteria joins in — hardwood, farming, more workers, and a higher daily wage cap. Collect from Advisor Ghrim (or NPC Contact for collect/reassign; coffers still need a visit).
- Daily wage = 10% of coffers, capped at 50k (75k with Royal Trouble).
- Approval multiplies yield; it decays 2.5%/day (1% after Royal Trouble).
- Raking weeds is the fastest way back to 100% approval.
- Idle subjects waste wages — always fill every slot.
How this calculator works
Each simulated day converts coffer spend and favour into resource points, then each labour turns those points into expected item quantities using the wiki inverseCost tables (maple 160, coal 98, herbs 11, and so on). Secondaries — nests, gems, herb seeds, farm/tree seeds — use the wiki rate tables as expected values.
Live mid prices come from the OSRS Wiki Prices API. Profit is loot EV minus coffer GP spent over the period. For a single-labour ranking, wage cost is scaled like the wiki tool (spent × 10 / max workers).
Practical tips
- Top coffers to the max (5M / 7.5M) if you go AFK for weeks — ~90 max wage days before you drop under the recommend floor.
- Collecting less often can round nests better (1 nest / 100 maple logs), but there is a hard nest cap (~1072) per collection.
- You can reassign labour right before collecting; yield uses the setup at collect time.
- Ultimate ironmen cannot bank kingdom loot — skip this activity on UIM.
FAQ
- How much should I keep in Miscellania coffers?
- Keep at least 500,000 GP after Throne of Miscellania, or 750,000 GP after Royal Trouble, so the daily wage hits the 50k / 75k cap. More than that only buys more days of max output before you top up — max storage is 5M / 7.5M.
- Does Royal Trouble matter?
- Yes. It raises subjects from 10 to 15, boosts productivity (~50% more resources for the same wage), raises the daily wage cap to 75k, unlocks hardwood and farming on Etceteria, and slows approval decay to 1% per day.
- What is the most profitable Miscellania assignment?
- It changes with GE prices. Use the Best labour tab on this page — it runs every labour at 10 workers on your coffer/approval/days settings and ranks expected profit after wages using live wiki mid prices. Herbs are often strong; flax and maple can lag when log/flax prices are soft.
- Do idle workers still cost money?
- Yes. Daily coffer deductions happen at the same rate whether subjects are working or idle. Always assign every available subject.
- Can I change workers right before collecting?
- Yes. Rewards are calculated when you collect from Advisor Ghrim using the current labour setup. Approval and coffer spend still applied day by day while you were away.
- Is this the same as the OSRS Wiki calculator?
- Resource points, inverseCost tables, and secondary drop EVs are ported from Module:Miscellania calculator on the wiki. Prices use the live OSRS Wiki Prices API mid (high/low). Small rounding differences vs the wiki UI are possible.
