Notes
- Rates assume ice gloves or smiths gloves (i) so you can take bars without a bucket.
- With goldsmith gauntlets, do not equip ice gloves until after the XP drop or you lose the gauntlet bonus for that inventory.
- Coal bag fills from the bank (shift-click Fill). It does not change coal per bar — it raises bars/hour for steel and up.
- Hybrid gold + primary ore patterns can beat pure gold XP; see the OSRS Wiki strategy page.
FAQ
- How much coal does the Blast Furnace use?
- Half of a normal furnace: steel 1, mithril 2, adamantite 3, runite 4 coal per bar. This calculator already uses those amounts.
- What XP do goldsmith gauntlets give?
- Gold bars are 22.5 XP normally and 56.2 XP with goldsmith gauntlets (Family Crest). Wiki rates with gauntlets are about 315k–371k XP per hour, not ~56k.
- What does the 72k coffer cost?
- On official Blast Furnace worlds, dwarves run the machine for 72,000 coins per hour deposited in the coffer. Under 60 Smithing you also pay the foreman 2,500 coins every 10 minutes (15k/hr, or 7.5k with ring of charos (a)).
- Where is the Blast Furnace?
- Keldagrim. Start The Giant Dwarf to enter the city. After visiting once you can return by mine cart or the Blast Furnace minigame teleport.
