Corrupted Gauntlet — Zero-Gear Solo Money Making
Corrupted Gauntlet (CG) is the hard mode of The Gauntlet in Prifddinas after Song of the Elves. You enter with nothing, gather inside, and fight Corrupted Hunllef. Profit is seed-driven: enhanced weapon seeds and armour seeds pad the average; shard-only chests are still okay but much lower.
Skip if: Song of the Elves is incomplete, you tilt after deaths (HCIM lose status here), or you want AFK methods instead of prep + prayer/movement.
Wiki ~4.7M @ 6/hr incl. seeds
Learners ~3–4; practised ~6+
~330k no seed; ~800k with
Prep speed + Hunllef
Hard gates
- Song of the Elves completed (Prifddinas / Gauntlet access)
- No items brought in — death does not lose your bank gear (except HCIM status)
Recommended (soft)
- 80+ Attack / Strength / Defence, 85+ Magic / Ranged, 80+ Hitpoints, 77+ Prayer (wiki money-making baseline)
- Comfortable with prayer flicking and 7-tick weapon switches
- RuneLite Gauntlet helpers for room tracking while learning
You craft everything inside. Target for a smooth Hunllef:
- Weapons: T2 or T3 attuned blade + bow (or staff) — perfect T3 both styles when possible
- Armour: T2 body/legs/helm minimum; T3 if prep time allows
- Food / pots:egniol potions + cooked fish; more food > perfect armour if you are still dying
- Teleport crystal crafted for an escape if you botch prep (still no unique chance)
Outside CG: bank your real gear in the entry chest. Nothing to buy for the method itself — bankroll is optional for anxiety, not required.
- Enter empty (or dump into the Gauntlet chest)
- Inside: pickaxe / axe / harpoon frames as you find them; gather ore, bark, fish, herbs, shards
- Final fight inv: T2/T3 weapons, armour, egniol potions, fish, teleport crystal
- Drop trash frames early; never enter Hunllef underfed
- Enter Corrupted Gauntlet → scout for demi-bosses (dark beast / dragon / bear) that drop key resources.
- Mine / chop / fish / collect herbs on a fixed route; kill crystalline monsters for shards and secondaries.
- Craft T2 weapons first so clear speed jumps; then armour and potions; push T3 if timer allows.
- Enter the Hunllef room with food, pots, and both combat styles ready.
- Fight: pray correctly for Hunllef's style, switch weapons when it changes prayer, walk tornadoes, and respect floor patterns.
- Loot the chest → leave → immediately re-enter for the next prep. Aim to cut dead time between runs.
- Hunllef prayers — it protects a style; you must swap weapons. Staying on the blocked style wastes the kill.
- Player prayers— match Hunllef's attack style (mage/range). Misclicks punish hard.
- Tornadoes / floor — keep moving; standing still for DPS is how learners die.
- Timer — corrupted mode is stricter than regular Gauntlet; inefficient prep loses the run before the boss.
- Leaving early or dying grants a token reward with no unique seed chance.
Wiki assumes ~6 completions/hr and ~4.7M/hr including seeds. Without enhanced/armour/weapon seeds, chests average closer to ~330k (~2M/hr). Crystal shard value in guides often assumes divine potion making (97 Herblore) — raw shard GE value may differ.
- Stable: crystal shards, rune equipment, runes, arrows, coins
- RNG: enhanced crystal weapon seed (~1/400), crystal armour seeds, crystal weapon seeds
- Supplies: none brought in — death cost is time + HCIM risk, not GP
Enhanced seed price is the headline number — verify on GE Tracker before comparing CG to Zulrah/Vorkath.
- Entering Hunllef with T1 weapons or almost no food
- Chasing perfect T3 every room instead of a repeatable T2+ prep
- Forgetting to switch weapons when Hunllef changes prayer
- Standing still for tornadoes
- Quitting after a dry seed streak — baseline shards still pay if completions stay high
